About SWD

SWD is an independent, medium-sized company with roots in the former FINA lubricant plant in Duisburg. For over five decades, we have been developing, producing, and distributing high-quality lubricants and specialized product solutions for a wide range of industrial requirements under the protected brand Swd Rheinol. Our products comply with national and international quality standards. Quality, reliability, flexibility, and customer-oriented service have formed the basis of our operations for many years and are highly valued by our customers.

Capacities & Production

With a production capacity of 80,000 tons of lubricants per year, SWD is one of the largest independent lubricant manufacturers in Germany. In our own production, we develop and manufacture high-quality automotive lubricants, industrial lubricants, and specialty products at the highest quality level. Our product portfolio includes container sizes from 1, 4, and 5-liter bottles through 20, 60, and 208-liter containers up to 1,000-liter containers and full tank truck deliveries. Our customers include workshops, medium-sized companies from various industries, trade organizations, and industrial enterprises.

For reliable and high-performance production, SWD has 93 tanks with volumes ranging from 6 to 1,500 m³ and a total storage capacity of over 9,000 m³. The infrastructure is complemented by 14 mixing vessels with 1 to 40 m³, 12 mixing tanks with 150 to 250 m³, and 12 fully and semi-automated filling lines, which efficiently process container sizes from the 0.25-liter dosing bottle to the 1,000-liter container. For smooth logistics, two 50-ton weighbridges are also available for loading tank trucks. This comprehensive technical equipment enables SWD to achieve flexible, efficient, and reliable production at the highest quality level.

Our company site in Duisburg covers an area of 52,000 m² and is centrally located within Europe's largest inland port. For the safe storage and efficient handling of water-hazardous liquids, 20,000 m² of state-of-the-art storage capacities are available.
Thanks to optimal infrastructure connections, our location offers ideal logistical conditions for fast and reliable delivery via our own ship mooring (jetty), a direct rail connection, and its immediate proximity to one of Europe's most important motorway junctions.

Quality Management

Our products comply with national and international quality standards. All development, production, and filling processes are continuously monitored by our in-house quality laboratory to ensure the highest product quality and process reliability. SWD is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001, ISO/IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 , thus meeting recognized standards in quality management, the automotive industry, and occupational health and safety.

Our Customers

Our diverse customer base includes renowned oil companies as well as companies from the steel industry, mechanical and plant engineering, the transport sector, and agriculture and forestry. Furthermore, we supply customers from the construction and automotive industries, municipal facilities, and petroleum dealers. Selected products are also available in auto parts stores and DIY stores.
